The flesh desires relief, the heart desires healing
The flesh desires comfort, the heart desires growth
the flesh desires pleasure, the heart desires joy
the flesh desires immediacy, the heart desires patience
the flesh desires sexual release, the heart desires connection
the flesh desires taste, the heart desires nutrition
the flesh desires freedom, the heart desires discipline
the flesh desires its own way, the heart desires correction
the flesh desires revenge, the heart desires forgiveness
the flesh desires more, the heart desires contentment
the flesh desires fantasy, the heart desires reality
the flesh desires ease, the heart desires strength
the flesh desires perfection, the heart desires reflection
the flesh desires rest, the heart desires peace
the flesh desires rage, the heart desires understanding
the flesh desires judgement, the heart desires acceptance
the flesh desires power, the heart desires influence
the flesh desires control,the heart desires resolution
the flesh desires money,the heart desires generosity
the flesh desires fame, the heart desires to be known

A Broken World

We live in a broken world,
where little ones die of hunger,
and men rape the earth for their own pleasure.
We live in a fallen world,
where the wars of greed terrorize the soul,
where sons are forgotten,
and daughters taken advantage of.
This is the world in its fallen state,
and we wonder...
Where is God?
Why is he so silent?
Why doesn't he step in?
Why what is -should never have been?
And we learn-
that he truly is the man of sorrow,
how his heart breaks
at our own destruction.

There is no such thing as the easy way
not when your searching for healing
and wisdom
no, there is no such thing as the easy way
the best lessons we learn in life
are always the hardest
from the mistakes of others or our own
we learn that everything has a price
every dream costs us something
not everything that is lost will be found
Some things we lose forever, on this side of heaven
and we must learn to Grieve and to mourn
To accept the loss and not hold out false hope
but hold to the reality that we are still His
No matter the void
I am learning what it means to embrace the cost
